Licence agreement

MY OWN CLOUD SPACE - END USER LICENCE AGREEMENT
Version 1.0 (draft, October 2026)

This agreement is between you and the publisher of My Own Cloud Space
("we", "us"), reachable at https://myowncloudspace.com. By installing or
using the software you accept it. If you do not accept it, do not install
the software.

1. WHAT YOU GET
My Own Cloud Space is server software that you install and run on your
own computer. Your files stay on your computer. We do not host, receive,
scan or see your files, your accounts or your passwords.

2. FREE TRIAL
A new installation works fully, without a licence key, for a trial period
shown in the software (three days at launch). After the trial, the
software continues to run in read-only mode until a licence key is
entered: every account can still sign in and open, play and download
every file; uploading, editing, creating share links and adding accounts
are paused. The software never deletes, locks or hides your files because
of a missing or expired licence.

3. LICENCE KEY
A licence key gives you the right to use one installation of the software
for the term and the number of accounts stated in the key (for the launch
offer: two years, up to 20 accounts). A key may be entered on one server
at a time. You may move it to a replacement server you own. You may not
sell, publish or share the key, or remove or bypass the licence check.
When the term ends the software returns to read-only mode (section 2)
after a short grace period, until the key is renewed.

4. PRICES, PAYMENT AND REFUNDS
Prices are shown on myowncloudspace.com. Payments are processed by our
reseller, which acts as merchant of record and handles sales tax. If the
software does not work for you, ask for a refund within 30 days of
purchase; we will refund it. Statutory rights under your local consumer
   law are not affected.

5. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
You choose the computer, the drives and the network settings. You are
responsible for keeping backups, for the security of the computer, for
the accounts you create, and for the content you and your users store and
share. Use the built-in backup and keep your Recovery Kit somewhere safe:
without it, encrypted data cannot be recovered by anyone, including us.
You must not use the software to store or share content that you have no
   right to store or share.

6. UPDATES
Updates are offered through the software and the website during the
licence term. Updates are signed; the software verifies them before
   installing.

7. PRIVACY
The software does not send your files, account details or usage data to
us. When you buy a key we keep the purchase details needed to issue and
support it. The update check sends only the software version and platform.

8. OPEN-SOURCE COMPONENTS
   The software includes open-source components under their own licences;
their notices are shipped with the software and listed on the website.
Nothing in this agreement limits your rights under those licences.

9. NO WARRANTY
To the extent permitted by law, the software is provided "as is", without
warranty of any kind. We do our best to make it reliable and secure, but
we do not promise that it is free of defects or that it will never lose
   data.

10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related
to the software is limited to the amount you paid for the licence in the
twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for lost data, lost
profits or indirect damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow these
limits; then they apply only as far as allowed.

11. ENDING THIS AGREEMENT
You may stop using the software at any time. We may end your licence if
you breach this agreement. Your files remain yours in every case.

12. LAW
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the
federal laws of Canada that apply there, without limiting any mandatory
consumer protection of the place where you live.

This draft must be reviewed by a lawyer before public sale.
