Privacy

Short version: your cloud runs on your computer, so your files, your accounts and what you do with them never reach us.

The software

• Files, photos, videos, documents: stored only on your computer and the drives you choose. We have no copy and no access.
• Accounts and passwords: stored on your computer, passwords hashed with Argon2id.
• Licence check: done on your computer. The software does not contact us to verify a key.
• Update check: the software downloads a public list of releases from myowncloudspace.com once a day. The request carries the version and platform, and our web host sees your IP address, as with any web page. You can turn update checks off.
• No analytics, no tracking, no advertising in the software.

This website

• No cookies, no tracking scripts, no advertising.
• Our host (Cloudflare) keeps standard request logs and aggregate visit counts for security and capacity.

When you buy a key or write to us

• Our reseller processes the payment and keeps the billing details it needs by law. We receive your name, e-mail address, country and order details.
• We keep your name, e-mail address and licence details to send, renew and support your key, for as long as the licence is valid plus seven years for tax records.
• Support e-mails are kept while we help you and for one year after.
• We never sell or share your details for marketing.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the details we hold about you, ask us to correct them, or ask us to delete them (except records the law requires us to keep). Write to support@myowncloudspace.com. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your local data-protection authority.
